Turmeric latte's are a great alternative to coffee, but boy can they sting the hip pocket.. five or six dollars for a latte? No, thank you.
Luckily I have I come up with an incredibly easy (and oh so trendy) recipe that saves the wallet and delivers on flavour and nourishment. It is also a recipe that can be adapted for the Summer and Winter months, so you can enjoy the golden goodness all year around

Ingredients: Serves 1
250-300ml of liquid of choice; almond, coconut, cashew or soy milk, cow's milk, water etc. (Tip: can use a combination of the above) I love equal parts coconut, almond and water
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1-2 grinds of black pepper
pinch of cardamom powder (optional)
1/2 tsp sweetener of choice (optional); rice malt syrup or honey
Summer version will require:
1 jar (holds at least 400ml liquid)
4-5 ice cubes
Winter version will require:
1 Thermos, keep cup or mug
Small stove top pot
Place liquid, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, cardamon (optional), sweetener optional) and ice in jar. Place lid on and shake until combined.
Ready to serve.
Place liquid, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, cardamon (optional) and sweetener optional) into pot.
Place on stove top and bring to simmer, stirring until combined.
Pour into keep cup, mug or thermos and enjoy.
